It’s official. I’m going to start counting down to NY. It’s just three weeks away and the excitement is definitely mounting. I’m not sure what I’m going to bring, but I’m leaning more towards bringing less because I plan to bring back as much booty in my suitcase as it can take. Oh and i gotta start compiling a list of the recommendations I’ve gotten from locals–blah, I hate making lists!
I feel like I’m violating some sort of basic fashion law here by wearing one of the most garish patterns known to man. I mean sure, it was iconic in its day, but I’ve just never been convinced or sold on it. Sure, the models were walking down in acid-wash at Balmain, but well, that’s Balmain! Then a couple days ago when doing a round on Robson after renewing my passport, I found these at Zara. I’ve seen bloggers from FashionToast to Fashion Poison don similar incarnations, but never felt the impulse to take the dive!
The recent wave of 30+ hot weather is perfect for traipsing around in a barely-there bikini, but when it comes to putting something together that isn’t shorts and a tank top, boy is it hard! Apparently yesterday was the hottest day in history for Vancouver at 34 degrees!
So I bought this dress a few months ago and kinda stuck it in the back of my closet because I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. I think the length was kinda an issue–too long…I couldn’t quite visualize the full potential of this Erin Wasson x RVCA number. So today I did the unthinkable and cut it up with mixed results–I liked it much more this time around because it looked better proportioned…however I made the mistake of cutting it a wee bit short in the back; argh! oh well. Going to wear it with stockings from now on end…
