ok! so week one is over in beijing. I have to say that despite the bone-chilling cold, I like Beijing much more in the winter. There are less people on the roads and the city feels a little less polluted. Plus coming from a cold place, i find myself acclimating much easier to this than the the almost 50 degree weather of the summer.
it’s strange how the constant hustle bustle and seemingly endless chaos that was so strange just about six months ago all seems normal to me now. I suppose in a way, i’m finally mentally adjusting to china….at least for the mean time.

I saw a really, really beautiful Chinese movie on Netfix the other day, and I thought I would share it with you since you are back in Chine. It’s called Aftershock in English and it follows the life of a girl who survived the 1976 earthquake in Tangshan. It was a very powerful, moving film.

HOW can you walk with bare legs in Beijing during winter?! OMG I experienced the worst cold weather ever when I lived there last year
Respect babe!!
However, I agree on liking Beijing more in winter than in summer, but that’s because the smog is then so much less. Great city to live in. I still miss it sometimes

Wow, after 6 years in Beijing I finally find a blogger in my city! Though by flicking through your pages I see you do a lot of shopping abroad and online (I’ve only ever used Taobao for halloween costumes!).
You’ve browsed Nali patio right? And stores in the Sanlitun area? Lane Crawford will probably be having a sale around Chinese New Year as well which I will definitely hit up and you should too (you like A Wang, right?). Speaking of which, are you attending the opening of his flagship early next year?

hello im just reading this and omg, i was in beijing all of dec and some of jan and i can’t believe that was what you wore in winter! :O it was pretty darn cold in dec(although jan was worse)! i had at least two layers on at all times, and NEVER in shorts. how do you do that in winter :O
