Ahhh it seems like forever since I went out to take pictures! As I mentioned in the last post, I’ve been stricken by the cold! I hate being sick: the nose-blowing, coughing, and general ooziness of the whole affair is the hugest waste of time. I haven’t been sick for about a year and a half and did not enjoy this at ALL. Eff you virus. Eff you.
On a brighter note, I’ve already done my ‘boxing day’ shopping. On Christmas eve I went to Artizia to check out the sales (they mark down on the 23rd) and got this grandpa sweater I had been ogling for a few months and a cropped tee (yes I’m riding that trend into the ground). I also made an unplanned trip to BCBG–unplanned because I don’t really dig them and have never bought anything from them before. But then I saw these beautiful Mendel boots that I had seen floating around the blogosphere and HAD to try them on. First off, they are pony hair, second they have a cool invisible heel in the back that totally reminds me of something that Mrs Becks has worn in the past. Anyhoo, the sales girl let me know I could get them for 50% off if I paid for them then and there. Trying to keep my composure, I told her I’d be back. Inside I think I was jumping up and down with glee because FIFTY OFF 774?????? HOLY SHIT. SOLD. So I’m going back to BCBG on Sunday to pick them up.
Dan and I took these pictures right off Robson and Granville. I love and hate how they are cleaning up the Granville strip. On one hand it really needed to be done because it was scuzzy and not very nice on the eyes, but on the other….it’s part of Vancouver history. The old store fronts and roads had a distinguished grittiness to them that can only be attained with age and wear. Oh well. I guess this is what happens to cities right? Boooooooo.
What is everyone doing for NYE? I bought tickets to Fortune and am pretty stoked. This is my first ’single’ new years in almost FOUR years!!!! I take back what I said about not wanting to get fucked up…..because why not right??!! There’s going to be a fortune teller and a ball drop of some sort…shall be fun. I got a gold lame jumpsuit from H&M that I might wear. OOOh and speaking of H&M; I want to give a shout out to @Mmmitzi for being so sweet and telling me that she was a big fan
