As Dan and I get more adventurous together in our little outings, so are the places that we choose to shoot in. When I look at these pictures versus the ones that we take outside in full light, I almost want to say I like the ‘inside’ ones more. When you seek light in a dark and poorly lit space, you get imaginative. And the results are sometimes way prettier/trippier/grittier than something you’d ever get during the day.
I hope everyone is liking the new blog. It’s pretty much a souped up version of my old blog, which was getting a little dysfunctional and messy. I’ve been spending half my week working at home and the others at my friend Mike’s place who is the computer whiz who helped slap the new Haute Pursuit together. Working without the supervision of a manager or other coworkers is definitely interesting. I’ll admit that during the first week…I felt a little lost. A little too space cadety (ie browsing perezhilton and other gossip rags) when I should have been building my blog/store etc. Now, with renewed drive and ambition, I’m waking up every day at 7:30am and going straight to work, which happens to be exactly 2 steps from my bed. Nothing comes easy people and nothing ever gets handed to you. No matter how talented/pretty/qualified you are, you gotta work for it!
On a much lighter note: it’s kinda strange that this is only the second time I’ve photographed this Alexander Wang sweater. I got it last year pre-order and practically lived in it. Shit like this, I cannot buy anymore because it is mucho, mucho expensive. I love knits and the details on this thing are killer. The grooved back and all the netted holes are hand-sewn. Just incredible. I will forever be in awe of this sweater.
P.S. my friend Aimee from Song of Style told me how much she liked me smiling, so I told her I would try to smile in every post and dedicate it to her. So Aimee, if you’re reading this, those pearly whites are for you honey!
