DEAR HATER(S)
I gotta say the hate mail has been really nonexistent for the longest time so I was a little surprised to find a message today rife with contempt, condescension and well, hate. It was left for the video that I did with Lily and Peter, which kinda went like: you all are vapid and Vanessa you look tired and ‘not well preserved’. Of course this made me chuckle to myself and recoil at how miserable this individual must be to stop by my blog, watch the whole 2 minutes of my video and try to formulate some sort of observation, which (surprise surprise) was entirely misguided, puerile, and poorly constructed. First of all, I’m not some adolescent twat that just writes dribble about clothes and oooh and ahhh’s at pretty shiny things. My blog is simply an outlet for creativity that I can share my love for fashion (and yes beautiful things) with readers and friends. I will not apologize for purchasing a $1500 dollar Marc Jacobs bag because it’s my prerogative to do whatever I please with money I worked hard to earn. I won’t even touch on appearances. If you think you can hurt my psyche by saying I look ‘tired’ or ‘ill-preserved’, try again–and I’ll delete it just like all the rest. Go hide behind your computer and continue stalking us like some sort of blogger vigilante preaching whatever anti-materialistic dogma that you so cluelessy adhere to.

I couldn’t ever understand that either – why people waste their time hating on other people and writing crap on their blogs. what is the point? if they don’t like what they’re seeing, then they can close their screens. No one is forcing them to read your blog. They are probably just jealous.
It does go to show you’re doing something right b/c for every one person that hates you, I’m sure there are hundreds who love you. Keep doing what you’re doing!!

What an a-hole! Unfair. And a waste of everyone’s time—yours and theirs. No one makes us write blogs and put hours into our photos and posts. But the self-entitlement of the general reading public makes them think it was for them, so they feel entitled to comment. I’ve had some nasties before; after a day I was over it and just kind of felt bad for them. I consider it a badge of honor

It kind of comes with the territory I believe- but I think you already know your style is amazing, you are gorgeous and shouldn’t even waste space on some old hater. You started this blog in ‘haute’ pursuit of your dream, you’re running fast and there is always someone on the sidelines wanting to trip someone. I am personally a fan of yours. I check your blog almost everyday and I have the attention span of a fish. So there you go – a deserved compliment cancels out and an insult that holds no merit.
Kepp up the good work and leap over the haters . . . preferably in BCBG, Ashish, JC, Sam Eldeman . . .etc. Give them a good view

I’m really protective of myself – so when I started blogging I was really worried about haters. Now I can’t believe even the concept of a stranger being mean to me could stop me from expressing myself.
I’m happy you don’t let it phase you, your blog is always interesting and inspirational. I really respect you for posting about this and expressing yourself honestly.
(You know? Even to those adolescents just ooohing and aaahing, I still give them props – it’s hard enough to put yourself out there in any sort of capacity.)

you see.. i dont want to sound preachy and say that i adore all blogs.. seriously, i have stumbled upon some sites that are just pure nonsense.. but what did i do? just peacefully walk away from it.
clearly, these haters just dont have anything better to do with their time. insecure much? (i was just actually talking to another friend of mine about this matter).
as for you, my dear.. continue doing what you’re doing! i love how inspirational your blog has become. and it’s always been great that you spend the time to drop by my blog. i appreciate that a lot!

you aren’t famous until someone hates you, right? hate comments are only a miniscule percentage of the rest of your overwhelming support. i for one enjoy your blog and judging by your success, so do a lot of other people. whoever wrote that comment undoubtedly has flaws, as no one alive is perfect. so who the fuck are they to throw stones when they live in a glass house?

This is really funny (sad) seeing as the latest issue of Glamour touched on this very topic. I wish I had $1500 to blow on a bag but I don’t feel anger or dislike over someone who can. You’re a pretty woman but that doesn’t mean I’m jealous of you. Whoever feels the need to hide behind such comments is really pathetic. I think it’s great that you’re calling them out on it. Let’s not give these haters a place to hide!
P.S. In this day and age, it’s hard to hide since you can easily get their isp address. I think people forget this when they leave comments.

You looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL in your video and I think that you carry yourself very well.
I’m in a profession where I go through the same thing… People critiquing and feeling as though they have a right to pick you apart. Don’t allow it. You’re fabulous.

people are hateful because they are trying to redirect hatred for themselves onto others. No matter how skinny, how fat, how short or tall, how pretty or exotic; there will be someone out there with a vengance to be critical either way (because they suck and thier life sucks whether they know it or not)….you are beautiful vibrant, healthy and just fine the way you are! keep on doing what ur doing and dont take anything from those toxic people!!!
