DIZZYING NEW HEIGHTS
Here are just a few pairs of platform wedges that I’ve been eyeing for the last little bit. To be totally truthful, I used to hate fat ass platforms because I thought they were clunky and an automatic figure disfigurement–think goofy-esque proportions. But of late, since I started collecting more and more of these height enhancing pieces of art, I’ve realized that I love them! It’s waaay easier to walk around in a 5″ platform than stiletto heel. Anyhoo, hope everyone had an awesome NYE. I certainly did. In fact I had such a good time, I don’t remember much of it. I did one of those lets-chug-as-much-booze-in-as-little-time plus brown bagging it in the taxi to the club. So yeah, as I foreshadowed in a few posts before, I did get fucked up and boy-oh-boy did I ever pay for it in the morning–ie when I stirred awake at 10am still fully inebriated and deliriously hungover at the same time. Resolution #1 don’t drink like I’m still sixteen because you ain’t.
From top left to right: Kurt Geiger purple crush velvet platforms, Ashish for TOPSHOP gold platforms, Osman Yousefzada Blue Velvet platforms, Charlotte Olympia pump platform, ACNE Atacoma, Finsk wooden platforms

shoes posts are my favourite kind. love your picks Vanessa! love the crushed velvet. the Osman Yousefzada blue velvet platforms are gorgeous! and of course the Acne Atacoma, always pleasing to the eye and feet. I agree, sky-high platforms > stilettos any day. I also love the architectural heel and platform of the Finsk wooden platforms, what a work of art.

wow those olympia platforms are beauties! and don’t worry i totally can unfortunately relate to the feeling of waking up STILL sauced up from the night before. i got in the habit of putting a bottle of water on my night stand before going out just so i have something to chug when i wake up with a wicked hangover the next morning. hope you’ve got pics to remember the night sweetie! haha and happy new year!

Woow! All of those platforms are amazing! I have always loved chunky platforms and that is pretty much what I look for when I comes to heels…maybe because I can walk better in them..being the “clumsy one”. Anyways, I made that same resolution too after I drank way too much at a family function and made a fool of myself…but I really don’t want to get into that…a horrible memory. Happy New Year! xoxo

oh btw, re: your comment in my blog..
it is very gorgeous there! the beaches outside the city are breath taking and since it’s a tropical country, you can really go anytime of the year an expect to get a decent tan!
my mom’s from the province and my dad lived near manila. im quite familiar with manila though because i took a year of university within that area.
it’s so nice to know and discover these things about you, dear! i love that we have some other similarities aside from being here in canada and freezing in our winters!!! hahaha!

yes, I photoshopped that baby picture!
And I guess it’s a good thing drinking adventures get less and less as we get older, because there will be a time when its just plain sad. But then again, NYE is an exception, o and your birthday of course! haha

i have a weakness for wedges. all i wear are wedges and all i spend money on are wedges. these shoes are incredible, to die for, flawless. i’ve had my eye on those big chunky blue ones for a while. i wish i made more money…

Lol, girl me too. I used to think chunky platforms were too “clueless-esque” and that stilettos had more of a punch…yet again, this was back in the early 90′s. But I’ve found solace in these chunky platforms 5″ or higher. I can’t stop collecting and only find these to be more comfortable than any other shoes I own.
