This is the cover outfit of the THP Shop May’13 lookbook, taken just a stone throw’s away from the beachy town we lived in. It was 7:30am in the morning, 40+ degrees Celsius outside with a balmy factor of probably 100%+; we thought we were literally going to melt under the sun. These were perfect conditions though to wear these overalls, another piece that is going to be a summer essential for me!

Shot along the main Mui Ne strip, the sun was just setting, diners weren’t descending upon the seafood shacks quite yet, and for a moment time stood still in paradise. This was the last look of the THP Shop May’13 Lookbook.

Every night was magical like this in Mui Ne. Some evenings, the moon was so close to the water that it almost seemed fathomable to swim up to it. I had never seen anything like that before in my life. We would just wade in the ocean water, ride the soft currents and bob like buoys for what seemed like eternity. Then dusting off our salty selves we’d stumble back onto our resort and just sit. Drink in the view and let the balmy air dry us off.

Can you tell I miss it?

One of my favorites from the May ’13 lookbook, this galactic ‘neoprene’ top is one of those things that can just stop you in your tracks. It’s been super glammed up here, but thrown over something more subdued or heck, even leather pants (highly recommended) can create a very strong day look. Click through for the rest!

This was me running around over the weekend trying to get everything done for THP SHOP that is relaunching on Monday, May 13th. (very exciting, so mark your calendars!) It was one of those days when I just wanted to wear nothing too close to the skin, just easy breezey. Ventilation, everywhere.

I have to admit though, wearing such over-sized clothing (the jeans I actually had to fold over because my hips are too narrow) can be some times dangerous territory. The line between cool and crazy bag lady is a fine one. I tend to straddle the line, sometimes pulling off the perfect ‘boxy’ look and at others, well not quite.

Ok, so it’s been over two weeks since posting a-n-y-t-h-i-n-g on my blog. We’ve been busy preparing the 10 or so new items and lookbook for THP Shop–stuff that I’ve found myself here in Beijing that is super cool and affordable (everything is under $200 dollars). If you follow my instagram (c’mon get on it!) you’ll know I was in Vietnam last week, mainly in Ho Chi Minh (aka the locally referred to Saigon) and a small beachy town called Mui Ne, just 3 hours away from the city. The experience was amazing: the food, the people, the weather, everything. Let me gather my marbles and wait for my instants to be developed to fully tell you the adventure in full! Stay tuned, k?

I’m a little sad that I’m going to have to retire my jackets soon to the storage, as full-blown summer is about to hit Beijing. That being said, I am beyond excited for the 30+ sunshine that I’m about to plop myself into in a couple of days when I head down to Vietnam! So long layers, hello minimal clothing!

Really loving my new cropped Front Row Shop top. I’ve been semi living in it, either under something meshy or on its own like here. It’s also great paired with a longer skirt to balance the dimensions. I’ll post more pics later this week along with some of my favorite crop tops online–stay tuned!

Anyone familiar with Zaha Hadid’s work will immediately recognize today’s shoot location. The undulating curves, the larval, pod-like structures are a total Hadid signature. Seen from afar it’s pretty magnificent, seen up close it becomes even more so, completely enveloping you. Anyways, check it out if you’re in Beijing: Soho Galaxy.

And yes, this skirt. I’ve had it in the closet for a while now and finally wore it the other day. It’s still a little big for me, but a little tuck of the shirt here and there, et voila! Perfect for all my future white ensembles.

I’m also really into my new Front Row Shop chambray blazer. It’s a nice alternative to the white one I always wear and it’s color! Yeh, trying to wear more colors recently.
