FLOWER GIRL DIY
So when I’m stressed out and frustrated, I make stuff. As some of you may have noticed on twitter, I’ve been trying to install the google friend connect and twitter plugins into my wordpress, but with little success. After peppering the twitter community with my umpteen posts about how I f*cking hate code, I decided I’d channel my energy elsewhere. I’ve wanted to make a floral headband for ages now. I think it’s so ethereal and pretty. I was talking to Sophia from Phosphene Fashion about what DIY’s I had planned, and I started thinking: I should really start doing more of them! I’m one of those people that write all my wacky ideas down–that’s why I buy Moleskin books in bulk. Anyhoo, so yeah, more ‘real’ DIY’s coming your way.
Oh and I’ve never actually worn these ‘Goody Two Shoes’ platforms since I bought them in Brooklyn in September. They are a wee too big in the ankle strap so gotta get ‘em fixed. I’m still very giddy whenever I look at these. They are super tall and are the most beautiful caramel/tan color. The wonderful man that sold them to me told me that all the girls in the 70′s wore them and he despised it because he was too short to pick them up. Funny story: when I showed my Mom what I got in New York she told me that she had the identical pair (same color, same size) when she was my age. Fashion REALLY is cyclical people!
If you are curious, I bought two small bouquets of fake flowers from the dollar store, took the heads off and sewed them together at the base. I’ll spare you guys any closeups because the workmanship is shotty (hey I was MAD) and it is after all just a ring of petals.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!!!!
P.S. if you DO see the google connect, PLEASE follow and make all my furious work worth it. Mwah!
Wearing vintage Saks blouse, Levis 501 cut offs, vintage Goody Two Shoes platforms, DIY flower headband

Gorgeous! My mom definitely had a pair similar to yours as well!! It’s funny how fashion works in a cycle. Some DIY’s are so simple, yet so gorgeous. The weather in Vancouver has been pretty crummy, it’s nice to see a bunch of spring like things to brighten up my day <3 xo

I love everything about this look. The jewelry is definitely my favorite part though. I love the contrast between all the metallic jewelry with the flowers (awesome DIY, btw)!

I love the platforms, it’s my kind of thing. Will choose it over pointed hills, they’re too painful for me. Your accessories are too cool, headband is heaven

I really really adore this entire look! The vintage/70s vibe is killer. I looove the flowers you used for the headpiece (I wish I could sew! I’ve been meaning to do a floral headpiece myself if I could!) and am in love with your blouse! xo, Mel

You’re probably not surprised that I’m going through a (mostly homemade)headband phase right now. Loved everything in this post, from the cut offs – another phase I’m in – to the natural looking shoes.
Love seeing how individual styles overlap like that!

Those wedges are …i’m speechless! So funny how when wedges were mass produced back in the day they weren’t’ cool but now they are the most desired shoe but so hard to find( at least killer ones like these in your pictures!) Good luck on your store! We will deff. be checkin in out! We are hoping to launch ours by march!
