FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS

I’ve had these J Brand doll bell bottoms for almost 2…3 years now? I got them on sale at Holt Renfrew when I was still going through one of my denim purchasing binges. Now that I’m living off almost nothing, I can’t believe I used to go to the mall almost every week and just buy bags of useless, disposable shit. And you know what? I really don’t miss it. It’s made me appreciate things that I took fore granted before like expensive dinners, pricey gym memberships and clubbing. Speaking of which, I never go out anymore! Maybe it’s the money, but I think it’s also because I got a leg up on most people by sneaking into clubs when I was 15–clubbing/binge drinking is old news to me. Yawwwwwwn.

The Olympics are so close it’s making me dizzy with excitement! The Olympic torch will be passing through my hood on Thursday around 4:43 so expect a twitter photo blitz full of all things Vancouver 2010. I am so proud to be Canadian right now. I don’t think there’s anywhere else in the world like Vancouver and finally everyone is going to see how amazingly beautiful and awesome we are.

Oh and I’m totally in love with my bell bottoms again. Going to wear them EVERYWHERE!

I have those exact jeans and just love the fit. I too had gotten them a while back and had stopped wearing them due to the “skinny jean” craze. Poor babies, they never did anything to me but make me look good. Will start to wear them more often :)

You look amazing as always, and love your inside/out tee idea :)

  10. davi says:

Wow you rock those jeans. I love the tight look on top wide on the bottom :) I am afraid to buy jeans so tight because I might put on a few pounds. Obviously not a problem for you :)

  11. J. says:

Those jeans fit like a glove-gorgeous! And I love your snakey braid…so cool!

  12. allegra says:

loooove your hairdo! so cool. I love braids.

  13. The Fancier says:

Those are rad flare jeans, just the perfect cut! I can relate to what you say about appreciating things more when you’re not constantly shelling out the bucks mindlessly. I’d rather savor a jacket that I’ve really been wanting that might be pricey and wear it with everything than buy 15 different cheap shirts just for the sake of having something different to wear.

  14. You look gorgeous! great pics

This hits home.. after recently getting OVER the corporate bore and making strdies toward personal goals, and moving permanently into the city, I remember the countless shopping spree’s and wreckless spending habits I had. Being style conoscious but not having the hefty salary you once had to support it causes us fashionista’s to pull from our artistic side and cherish it all. Good article!!!

so effing jelly of those lady! I think the glamouri has the same pair, it’s such a perfect shape. I am, like you, on a real fucking budget, so no j brand for me. I gotta stalk f21, but these days skinnys still too damned in.

  29. caylee says:

i freaking love this outfit – the tee/belt/bell bottom combo couldn’t any better. oh and the title – metaaaaaaaaalica baby! haha

i’ve always been on a budget and had to think about what i purchase before i purchase it, so i can totally relate to where you are coming from! at least it’s good sometimes – it forces you to look for only those things you know you will wear time and time again, and to look inside of your closet for hidden goodies, like your jeans!

  30. Sophie says:

BRING the bell bottoms back! Haha, brings me back so many good memories from middle school =D

and oh, i found these John Lennon-esque sunglasses and posted it on my Chictopia. They’re not the perfect round ones so I’m still contemplating if I want or need to get them. I got a fair share of comments to go buy them. would like you to check them out and share your thoughts too! and be honest, i won’t take it against you. haha.
