I WANT TO BE A WONG KAR WAI VIXEN
One of the many things that I enjoy about meeting new and interesting people is the opportunity to learn and experience new things that I otherwise would not on my own. I owe my dear friend Peter Le for introducing me to the brilliant Wong Kar Wai of In the Mood For Love fame. His films have become iconic for their seeringly sexy cinematography and dream like quality–not to mention the INCREDIBLE and very covetable style of its leading ladies. I cannot begin to tell you how inspired I am when I watch his movies. I’m just sorta in-awe by how beautiful everything is!
What I’m trying to get at is that I really want to dress like the vixens in his movies. Sexy, ultra-feminine but strong. This green blouse was another find that I picked up at Value Village on Saturday. It’s probably 2-3 sizes too big but I love how the extra fabric just gives it this effortlessly voluminous effect. I’m sorry that I didn’t get a better shot of it on its own but I was cold and understandably a little hesitant to peel off my super warm fur. Yes!!! It’s the return of the humongous white fur that I got in the East Village when I was in NYC. It’s so beautiful but sheds like CRAZY. My pants were disgusting afterwards…just brutal. I love getting ridiculously over dressed sometimes. I’m a creature of comfort and my comforts are black jeans and oversized tshirts. I’ve made a conscientious effort to diversify my closet and it’s slowly getting more and more colorful. Pat on the back.

I love the lushness of the fur in contrast to the bright green with polka dots, that’s so chic. also love your talon ring, very edgy. In a city like Vancouver, we need more people to overdress, so kudos to you! I love your style. Word on the street is Wong Kar Wai vixens want to be you, so what are you talking about? lol

I love Wong Kar Wai. Funny, I was rewatching Chungking Express the other day (in reference to the comment above me). I love 2046 especially. And some of his older films are fantastic too. The cinematography. styling, story are all so beautiful. Definitely inspiring.
