IN AN ARITZIA NEAR U

So about a month ago, I headed over to Aritzia’s head offices in Gastown to take part in a photo shoot that was inspired by a recent editorial Mario Testino did for W. The theme was ‘bad girl’ mugshots, which famously included Daisy Lowe and Peaches Geldof. I was in makeup and hair for about an hour and half–the hair was probably the longest: teasing, crimping, ironing, and curling my usually stick-straight locks into a Bride-of-Frankenstein esque bouffant! How fun!
Anyways, these photos are currently showcased in Aritzia store windows in Canada and the US. I must say: it’s mighty surreal to see an almost life-size photo of yourself in a store you used to work at.
An old coworker was telling my gf the other day: ‘I put up Vanessa’s face last night !!’ Hahah.

These are super cool!!! I’ll def check them out the next time I’m there. How long did it take to do your hair/makeup?
Jenny,
It took 1.5 hours in total. Most of it was doing my hair. Makeup took almost no time, but there were touch ups through the actual shoot

Hi Brook!
Yes I’m from Vancouver…I guess it’s kinda hard to tell…but by the sheer amount of basics I own from Aritzia, I thought that would tip off Vancouver girls right away!!
You should totally give me a shout if you see me wandering around the mall or in some of my other haunts!

Lauren,
To be perfectly honest, I was SHOCKED. There were no mirrors around when we were doing hair and makeup. So I only saw myself when i put on the outfit in the bathroom. the hairdresser kept on saying: ‘I’m so sorry about destroying your beautiful hair’. haha, kinda scary.

V
ahhhhh that is so cool!

Aww thanks Jenny!
I was kinda scared of my own photo–I look like a real thug!
Channeling my inner chola: the theme behind my makeup

Hey Victoria!
I know it’s strange isn’t it? I showed my grandma the other day and she didn’t even recognize me. She did however recommend that i wear my hair and make up like I did in the photos ‘every day’. Hahaha….love grandma….
