MAXED OUT

bluestars4_0

I’ve owned this cotton maxi dress for almost 2 years now and only ever wore it in the summer with flats. Recently feeling inspired by the long dress trend sweeping the runways and blogs, I decided to pull it out and pair it with my boots. I only realized AFTER I almost got home that the dress was TRANSPARENT. Total dunce moment.

I really love the blue-ish appearance of these photos…they’re really creepy/beautiful. Like a beacon of light we just gravitated towards this lamp shop and snapped away. It’s funny, I’m always ragging on people to turn off their lights, but I was so glad this store left a few on!!!

I spent most of my weekend reading and stalking eBay. I know, so glamorous…..heh.

Don’t you love realizing clothes are completely see-through once you’ve left the house?
I’ve done this MULTIPLE times, always at work, too.
    How professional, hey?
    Anyhow, transparent or not,
    Love the look :)

It was genius of you to wear the maxi dress with boots. It was a tad bit transparent, but not enough to be embarrassed about. The look is fantastic from head to toe.

I ADORE Wilfred! Why is there still no Aritzia in Montreal?! Sigh.

The maxi dress is definitely a sweeping trend. i love the James Perse maxi jersey dresses but i find this style really hard/awkward to pull off. you look amazing though- totally killing it ;) i love getting inspired in the most spontaneous of ways and then being able to apply it to pieces you already own- im always looking at my closet going: i know there are 1,000 different amazing combos in here: why are they more obvious some days than others lol!

and there NOTHING like a weekend stalking eBay lol! So many possibilities/and treasure to be found, it’s seriously one of my favourite places to shop. a friend recently told me they should have eBay gift cards cause she would have gotten me a bunch for Christmas! I was like YAAAAAA !!! lol!!

Like I said on your chictopia pic, love the skirt. My only issue is that when its so cold I can never wear a skirt. I did it one time this whole winter. I was lucky because it wasn’t has cold as it is now.

You should totally take more pictures at night with this kind of lighting, its really alluring and whimsical.

Quynh: the belt is actually BCBG! It’s patent with gold studs all around it. I will be selling it in the Haute Shop when it’s up and running :)

hey vanessa! I was wondering if you get notifications on comments made on older posts? because I left a comment on one of your posts and just wanted to see if you’ll still be able to read it. that aside, I’m so behind in replying to my comments as well as comment on other ppl’s blogs. I think I need to dedicate an entire day to catch up, that sounds so bad lol. Any way, I’ve seen all your posts/outfits up until this one and I really love the post where you took photos in a library. personally I can never really pull of a maxi skirt well without worrying about stunting my height, but the maxi looks great on you!

oh i just adore the neo-goth long skirt. you pull it off quite well… i think my favorite thing about fashion is the constant revolving door of what looks good one day bad the next re-interpreted on day three and back in style on day four… and so on and so forth…. you look fantastic.
