When I was a little girl, I had an Aunt who was dubbed ‘Mrs T’ because of her penchant for loads and loads of gold jewelery. I feel like we could have been kindred accessory spirits because I too, I have a┬áblinding lust for all things heavy, shiny and gold.

With age, I’ve become better at reigning myself in from ridiculous purchases. I think the last garishly costume-y piece of jewelry I bought was two years ago when I suckered myself into buying this awesome (but supremely tacky) Betsy Johnson gangster chain that probably could have housed a clock or two.

This is an ode to my notorious Aunt. May your 80’s gold paraphernalia rest in peace.
