YES, I’M AN HK MOVIE STAR
November 24th, 2009 - 27 Comments »
Dan had the clever suggestion to start taking pics in more populated locales because it adds an additional dimension to the photo, which I totally agree with. What I found funny and new was the amount of people that just stopped dead in their tracks to stare. We were joking around that I should have told the oglers that I was a Hong Kong pop star or actress–ha! As much as I am Canadian, I like to believe that I’m still very connected to the place that my parents came from. But that’s another story for another day, don’t want to bore you guys!
Ok, so my DINSKO post from a couple weeks ago has a lot of other bloggers/readers coming on requesting some much needed help to get their hands on the same boots that I got. If anyone is interested to help out a fellow reader, please go back to the original post
I got this skirt from H&M. I’ve been hankering for something PVC for forever now. I was *this* close to buying a pair of PVC pants from TOPSHOP while I was in NYC in September but chickened out because I had almost spent $3000 dollars by the end of my trip! I’m thinking I’ll just do what I originally was going to do: find one of those smut shops on eBay and get them cheap with maybe a 180 degree zipper. Bwahaha.
Don’t forget to follow me on Bloglovin!!! xx

Hi there.
Figured I should ‘introduce’ myself…
Stumbled upon your blog via your feature over at http://www.minmote.no – and this naturally lead to me skimming through all of your posts.
Also,I’ve (painfully) recently started a sort of style-ish-blog myself. There’s nothing of interest there as of yet, though. Maybe you have some tips as to what to blog, or not to blog …etc. Anything, really.
Also wanted to offer my translating services, should anyone need help with the DinSko site (which also exists in my native tongue – Norwegian), or other Scandinavian sites.
Basically, I just wanted to say hi – and the typing monster took over. You know how it is.
cheers!

ooh love this outfit!
i think chinese people tend to be nosey. haha are you chinese too?
I get really coy when people see my bf taking pictures of me out and about. Those boots are amaze, do they beat the “zoe” boot?

just found your blog! Love it! great style.
hah hah. I was thinking the SAME thing re:pvc pants, but then I found this pair by lip service VICE that were cut like jeans, really skinny jeanz. They were amazing, AMAZING, but I didn’t have the hundred bones at the time…I regret this almost everyday.
so I guess what I’m saying is,
nice skirt.
Hey Stine!
Thanks for stopping by! I’m glad you found me among the sea of fashion bloggers out there–there are a lot of us!
I’ll email you in private later today.
Talk soon.

Air,
Chinese people are unapologetically nosey! it’s just who we are.
My parents are from Hong Kong, so yes I’m Chinese, but born and raised here in Vancouver, Canada!

Kiss from Canada!

Closet,
Yeah I’m really glad we took pics in Chinatown. It’s really bustling all over and probably one of the few places left in Vancouver that has its original historic integrity in tact. I’ll definitely be back to shoot down some of the more sketchy alley ways!
V
Yep, you look o-so stylish as ever
, Btw In the fourth pic you look like a youngin with your hair tossed to the side and such….
Ps. I’m just really noticing those boots look mighty dangerous..whoa.
Hey! I love your blog! I’ve been reading for a few months now. I just wanted to chime in and say that I was born in Toronto, raised in Hong Kong [my mom is from HK] and I am currently living back in HK now. My boyfriend was taking some photos of me in a shopping mall here recently… At first I started noticing people staring, then, a few people started to take camera phone pics of me! Finally, two women shyly came up to me and asked me if they could have a photo with me as well! I laughed and said sure which prompted 2 older chinese men to also “line up” and ask for a photo with me. I left after that but I still wonder who they think I was…I work as a model here but I am definitely not a recognizable face in town or anything!
This is so rocker chic. Def’ly a Hong Kong music star than a movie star!
As a fellow Hong Kong’er, I gotta say that the musicians are absolutely ridiculous whereas the movie stars are too safe, too often!!
Loves it!
LOVE YOUR BOOTS VANESSA!!!
XOXO
NINI

These leggings would probs suit your PVC needs (how weird does that sound?)… I ordered but they haven’t come yet, but supposably they fit well =)
This is such an amazing look! Gorgeous!!!
What a gorgeous look! I love the skirt! it’s fabulous!
Hey lovely, loved this look on CT, it’s great to be able to see it ‘in action’ with your other photos here. You make me want to figure out the dinsko website immediately! Delicious.
i always secretly wanted to star in one of those TVB series. . . .haha
Anyways, you look freakin’ hott in these photos and i love the setting. Who knew chinatown could be the perfect location for an edgy photoshoot!
